Will Vijay Deverakonda, Dulquer Salmaan And Others Return For Kalki 2898 AD 2? Nag Ashwin Says ‘It’s Possible…’

Ever since Nag Ashwin’s dystopian sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD hit cinemas last week, it has taken both fans and the box office by storm. The film, starring Prabhas, is not just a visual spectacle but also a narrative masterpiece that has fans buzzing with theories and excitement. As it stands, Kalki 2898 AD is set to cross the coveted Rs 1000 crore mark worldwide, cementing its status as a box office juggernaut.

The film has also sparked chatter thanks to its unexpected cameos. Fans were thrilled to spot Mrunal Thakur as a sacrificial mother, SS Rajamouli as a bounty hunter, Ram Gopal Varma as a dealer, Vijay Deverakonda as Arjuna, and Dulquer Salmaan as Captain. These surprise appearances have only added to the film’s allure and discussion.

Regarding the potential return of Vijay and Dulquer in future installments, director Nag Ashwin told Pinkvilla, “They’re pretty much limited to what roles they have. Obviously, it’s possible to expand it into something else, especially for Dulquer. But as of now, it’s what it is.”

Nag Ashwin has been keeping an eye on the myriad conspiracy theories swirling around the film. He revealed that he’s open to integrating some of these fan-generated plot points if they serve the narrative well. Though the script for the sequel is already locked and initial shooting days have been completed, Ashwin and his team plan to start production and planning from scratch before bringing the actors back on set.

One of the most intriguing aspects of Kalki 2898 AD is the portrayal of Krishna, a character who remains a silhouette throughout the film. Ashwin explained his creative choice, “The idea was to always keep him a silhouette and formless, without an identity. Otherwise, it just becomes a person or an actor. The idea was always to keep him dark-skinned and silhouetted, just like a mysterious figure. I think that’ll (casting) go against the point.”

With its compelling storyline, star-studded cameos, and innovative directorial choices, Kalki 2898 AD is not just a film but a phenomenon. As it edges closer to the Rs 1000 crore mark, fans and critics alike are eager to see how this epic narrative unfolds in future installments.
