Ever since Saif Ali Khan was stabbed in the wee hours of January 16th, the authorities have been trying their best to investigate the matter. As reported by News18, on Monday, the authorities were in search of a second suspect in the case as the attacker, a Bangladeshi national Shariful Islam remained uncooperative. They found the second suspect, a Bengal woman, whose SIM card the attacker had used.
Yes, you read that right! Having interrogated the alleged second suspect, the authorities have found out that she lost her phone. The News18 report adds that the Mumbai Police team visited Nadia and Murshidabad districts of West Bengal as a part of their investigation. During the probe they found the woman whose SIM card was used by the arrested accused for making calls. They recorded her statement, in which she claimed that she had lost her mobile phone. The authorities are currently verifying her statement.

It is to be noted that according to the media publication report, the police are “100 percent” sure it was Shariful, armed with a Hacksaw blade and a knife, who attacked the Devara: Part 1 actor. Having entered India illegally last year, the attacker is in the Mumbai police’s custody till January 29.
As per multiple reports, Saif was stabbed around six times during the robbery attempt. According to a statement of the accused, he just wanted to steal from someone rich and elope to Bangladesh, to help his ailing mother and pay for her treatments. As the police are busy investigating the matter, netizens have been raising a large number of questions which continue to remain unanswered by the Khan family, the police as well as the Lilavati hospital staff, where the actor was rushed after the attack.

Recently, the actor’s medico-legal report surfaced online, where it was mentioned that he was admitted to the hospital only at 4:11 am. This raised alarm bells as according to the Bandra police, the attack on Saif happened at around 2:30 am. Since the hospital is ten minutes away from his two-storey penthouse in the Satguru Sharan building on St Theresa Road, netizens have been wondering what the actor was doing at home for an hour and a half with around six wounds.
Initially it was reported that one of the six wounds on Saif was caused by a 2.5 inch part of the knife lodging near his spinal cord. It does make one wonder how the actor could wait at home for so long, with a sharp piece of metal lodged near his spine as spinal fluid and blood kept oozing out. Even the auto driver’s, who rushed the injured actor, who was accompanied by a man and a child, reportedly actor’s son Taimur Ali Khan, time of admission varies from the hospital.
One of the main concerns raised by netizens is about Saif’s wife Kareena Kapoor Khan’s presence in the house during the attack. A section of the internet has been wondering where she had been, despite reports stating that she was with the actor when the entire ordeal took place. It makes one wonder, if she witnessed everything, why did she not accompany him to the hospital, instead of their son Taimur? Was Kareena, who was reportedly at a girls night out with her sister Karisma Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor, not in a condition to accompany her husband to the hospital?
It will surely be a waiting game to see if these questions are answered in the near future or not.
