Director James Gunn dropped the new teaser of David Corenswet’s Superman, where the DC superhero is seen zooming through an icescape and doing the trademark super flip.

The CGI flight scene is apparently not boding well with DC fans, who have been demanding Henry Cavill back in the franchise. For several diehard DC fans, the only saving grace was the superdoggo Krypto from the previous trailer drop. The latest teaser doesn’t seem to charm the Henry Cavill fans who want the Justice League star to don the cap again. Some users dubbed the David Corenswet Superman as Superman from Temu. Most fans discussed the Superman flip, some even comparing it to Tom Cruise’s Top Gun: Maverick fighter jet flip. Others proceeded with hilarious memes, taking potshots at David Gunn’s version of the DC superhero.

Sweet! I definitely see the Top Gun: Maverick influence in this flying scene. #Superman https://t.co/qtLFbOwWEi pic.twitter.com/Hemvv2v7CX

But not all fans are haters (including yours truly). “People are using a random 3-second clip to hate on the movie,” one user took a dig at online slanderfest. Anyone hating on this should get their ice checked.

James Gunn’s Superman movie features David Corswet as the kryptonian superhero on Earth. The comic book-accurate adaptation of Superman also features Hawkgirl, Mr. Terrific, and Green Lantern. This Superman flick will not build the prologue of earth’s mightiest hero falling in love with fellow journalist Louis or the beginning of enmity with Lex Luthor. The movie is slated to release on July 11th. Cinematography for Gunn’s Superman is done by Henry Braham, who has earlier collaborated with the director on the Guardians of Galaxy franchise in the MCU. The makers have roped in John Murphy for the score, and boy, he never disappoints! Murphy has previously colloborated with James Gunn in The Suicide Squade (2021), and The Gaurdians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023).
